A portrait of Cometan taken in the gardens of Hoghton Tower.

Cometan (born Brandon Reece Taylor, July 1, 1998; later known as Brandon Taylorian) is the founder of Astronism, a cosmological writer, an advocate of space exploration on religious and philosophical grounds, as well as an astronomer.

Cometan is most renowned for leading the revival in a long-undermined tradition of religions and philosophies which hold an astronomical theme. He organised these into what he called the Astronic tradition which proclaims in lineage to stretch back 40,000 years to the Upper Palaeolithic period of the Stone Age during which time early humans began working the stars which saw the beginning religious stages of astronomy.
